I'm a woman in San Antonio, Texas. How can I get access to a LARC device?

Good news!  All private insurance programs, Affordable Care Act programs, traditional Medicaid and Healthy Texas Women Medicaid provide funding for LARCs without a co-pay.  You can contact your own gynecologist, or any of the providers listed on this page to obtain your LARC device.

I’ve heard that there have been cuts to women’s health funding, will that affect my ability to obtain a LARC?

Confusion abounds about women's health funding, because of recent changes in insurance coverage laws, and federal and state funding.  Don't be discouraged.  There are still many funds available for women in Texas through the programs mentioned on this page.  Dr. Skop has addressed one area of misinformation, Title X funding, in this editorial...Title X changes are not a gag rule on abortions at clinics

Are you are worried about the cost?

If you do not have health insurance, you may be surprised to discover that you qualify for a state or federal program.  Visit the Healthy Texas Women (HTW) website, answer a few questions, and you will find out immediately if you qualify.  Even if you don't qualify, you can search for gynecologic providers in your area by your ZIP code.
